Connecticut is blessed with a large number of parks, many on the beach and even more inland. Quaddick State Park, one of the inland parks, is both close to Putnam and the border of Rhode Island. It is a lovely, family oriented place with a nice beach and lovely picnic grounds. I hope you like these photos taken there one afternoon.
Before viewing the photographs, I would also like to invite you to visit the poetry blog, the Book of Pain. As always, special thanks to my dearest Lyn, She Of Great Taste In All Things But Men, who does most of the photo selection. Thank you for dropping by the Book of Bokeh.

Beautiful place.
Thank you! It is a beautiful spot and I was lucky to be there at just the right time.
Great photos! I especially like the tree captures.
Thank you so very much, Amy! That is kind and gracious of you to say so and I appreciate it a lot!
Thanks to you! 🙂
🙂
I love the use of the fish-eye with the trees, especially taken from below, pointing towards the sky. It looks awesome !
Thank you so very much. I love those shots too! (Which is why I take so many. Lyn doesn’t like them too much though, I think they make her dizzy. 🙂 ) I have an even better one coming up that I think you’ll enjoy…wait until I post (Monday, probably) my Pulanski Park photos.
I can’t wait to see your post! I’m curious ! 🙂
It might take some time, actually, so I sent a copy direct. Hope you like it!
Loved the angle of the table in the first photo. It looks like a quite and serene place.
Thank you so much, that is very kind of you! That shot was interesting to get. The sun was drifting behind big white clouds and I set up that table shot (I was using a tripod and trying to get it dead center) and tore it down 3 times waiting and then missing the sun, before I finally got it in the dappled light that I wanted. I need to learn patience, and I need it right now! 🙂
I can understand sometimes patience tears us apart to get that right angle or right colour or right whatever. But we need patience. When in three shots if I don’t get what I want and if there is still something missing I just know that today is not the day. 😉
I wish, I wish, I wish I had your sense of balance and restraint. I just get wound up and all of a sudden feel totally exhausted and I never want to take another picture in my entire life. That’s when I need a chocolate cure…that fixes everything! 🙂
That’s the cure. 😉
So beautiful and peaceful place, and great images! Love the pines, so tall and slim.
Thank you! It was lovely there, although towards the end the sun started drifting behind big white clouds. I set up that table shot and tore it down 3 times waiting and then missing the sun, before I finally got it in dappled light. Thank heavens I am not fanatical about this, otherwise I’d be in trouble! 🙂
It is exactly the case when being “fanatical” is all right 🙂
Please, please, please tell my wife that! 🙂 (All joking, actually, she really is the soul of patience.)
I am sure it is one of the things she loves about you 🙂
There has to be something, although, personally, for the life of me, I can’t figure it out. As my best man named her on our wedding day, “She of Great Taste In All Things But Men.”
True story! 🙂
Hahaha, that’s hilarious!
