Wolf Den state park is the eastern part of the much larger Mashamoquet Brook state park and is one of Lyn’s and my favorite hiking spots. Sadly, I did not have a long enough lens with me to properly catch a photo of the family of deer that wandered across the field while we were there. One of them may have been the eight point buck that rules that edge of the forest. (The ranger showed me a picture of him that he had caught on his cell phone.) Ah well, next time! Still, it was a particularly beautiful place to enjoy the fall foliage, as I hope you will agree.

Haha! …surprised, but I am (or was as the last few seasons aren’t that interesting). What is your favourite genre in books John?
As a teen and young adult it was science fiction/fantasy, murder mysteries and some spy thrillers. Plus many contemporary novels and a lot of classics. I was a voracious reader then. But I have not read much fiction for many years now. One day I just got tired of the silliness of much of it, the sensationalism of much of the rest and the bitterness and ugliness of most modern works. Now I generally re-read a few of the books I have really loved over the years, a lot of history, some science themed books and, of course, books from my religion, the Baha’i Faith. Why do you ask?
I think, since the mention of Game of thrones… then the next thought was about the book(s) and so I asked if you are also into reading.

We’ve been lucky this year…the autumn colors are incredible, the best in everyone’s experience. I’m not sure why, but also not worried about asking it…we are just enjoying it! 🙂
