As I See It was a photo project that I lead for the Junior Youth Empowerment Project at Sandy Lane, an apartment complex in Connecticut, where my wife, Lyn, and several other ladies work to teach young adults the importance of strong spiritual values in their lives. The spiritual empowerment and training of children, junior youth and younger adults of any and all denominations is a major act of community development that the Baha’i Faith is engaged in the world round.
Below are 18 images taken through the project, and I have to say that I am both pleased and proud at the quality of the photos taken.
This is a very long post as it is, but I am going to try your patience further with a few photos of my own that I took on the same day as the Junior Youth were taking their photos. 🙂
Before viewing the photographs, I would also like to invite you to visit the poetry blog, the Book of Pain. Thank you for dropping by the Book of Bokeh.
And after the best, come my photos:

John, this is a beautiful collection of images. I am envying you – much happiness to you and so good to see your world.
Thank you so much Chris! I feel the same when I visit your blog…you do such a good job of finding the unique in the world around you.
Fantastic work, John!
Thank you very much! So nice to have you visit the Book of Bokeh. Can I ask one question, please? What’s a ‘Z’ spot? 🙂
Oh, I call my online store at the Zazzle website my ‘Z Spot’! I’m not sure why I chose that nickname… maybe it chose me? Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the words of encouragement! I almost spelled it as: Zee-spot! (A little French allusion!)
Zat would have been too-too fun-knee!! 🙂
LOL! Don’t get me started!
Excellent sequence, John. 🙂
It is, isn’t it? The participants did a great job and I could not be more proud of them. Honestly, I was amazed and quite pleased with their effort and the images they captured. 🙂
This collection was a treasure for me to see. Incredible … The shots from the projects, the kids, I considered the “unsaid”, the “unspoken”, the stories that are there, with those images. Good work, Bro.
Thanks, T! The kids had a great time as did we oldsters. And frankly I was blown away with the results. We are seeing if we can get it mounted at City Hall or at a library for a few weeks. That would be very, VERY cool!
Fantastic! So much creativity!
True! It was an amazing project and we all enjoyed it very much! 🙂
nice use of reflections
That shot is amazing, isn’t it?! It fair blew my mind with its originality. 🙂
Great job both the kids and yours!

That second portrait of yours, with the girl looking between the two trunks is fantastic! 🙂
Thank you! It is easy to take good pictures when you have such lively and strong willed young people! 🙂
You can literally see the empowerent in these young women’s eyes. Tell your wife good work and wonderful photos too, as always!
Cindy, dear, thank you! I will let her know your comments and I agree with your assessment, 100%! 🙂
Considerable talent, John.
Bonnie, I agree! And a lovely group, also! A lot of energy and imagination. 🙂
Love them!
Thank you! They are great, aren’t they? And a lovely group of young people too!
