Can you guess what I am?

Last week’s Cabin fever – things  post was particularly popular, partially because people enjoyed guessing what a few of the objects were. Several friends suggested a post dedicated to the same sort of game, so here it is! Get your pen and paper out because the legend of answers is at the end. Good luck.

Before viewing the photographs, I would also like to invite you to visit the poetry blog, the Book of Pain. As always, special thanks to my dearest spouse Lyn, who does most of the hard part: the photos selection. Thank you for dropping by the Book of Bokeh.

    • Tiny, honestly, if I hadn’t had my notes to keep it all straight, I’m not sure I’d have known what was what! 🙂

  1. I used to photograph from atop a Scanning Electron Microscope. Mostly the surfaces of the respiratory tracts of rats 60,000 x. I always felt as if I was shrunk down as I moved the scope over the surfaces. They looked like forests of cilia. You are having fun too!

    • A scanning Electron Microscope! Now that is the very definition of ‘macro’! 🙂

Actually, being that close in always reminds me of the 60’s scifi classic, “Fantastic Voyage” which, although written by a mountain of a man in the genre, only got sillier and sillier as it went on. Or maybe it was all wonderful at the time and I just got wiser as I got older…still there is such a fascination with seeing small things close up! 🙂

    • Don’t worry…if I hadn’t taken them, I am certain I wouldn’t have known them, and as it was I needed my notes to set me straight afterwards! But they were a lot of fun to do! 🙂

  2. Another great series John. Thought provoking and has made me break out my Macro to have a try. Certainly cool to see how every day items can gain a new identity

    • Absolutely! Every time I start it gets to be fascinating. “I never looked at it that way before!” I keep thinking.

Glad to see that you’re back. All recovered? Apparently, the good winter weather stopped when you left and the miserable set in, and the spring came in with your return. You are officially not allowed to leave Connecticut again!

    • If I hadn’t known what I was photographing, I would not have got it either! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the game. I’ll probably have another in a month or two.

    • I am glad that you liked it. You seem to be about average and to be honest, if I had not taken them I’d have got only a few too! 🙂

    • Thank you! I am glad you had fun with it. Several people have challenged me to make it even harder (?!) so maybe in a month or two I’ll do another. 🙂
