Ah…hello!

IMG_4799_800_801_802_803

Friends, I apologize that I have not posted in a very long time. I am well (and thank you to those who wrote) and I continue, when time permits, to do some photography, although much less than I would wish. And, obviously, I am also posting far less than I would wish.

The crux of it is time. Life, these past few months has been very hectic, both at home, with my religion, and at work. One of the things that preoccupied me greatly over the winter was taking a course on Data Science: the art of mining Big Data for patterns and information. The course was through Kent State University, where I am pursuing my Master of Digital Sciences in Enterprise Architecture—a computer geeky thing that I am enjoying immensely.

Which brings me to this posting. This summer term I am doing another intensive course (a full semester squashed into seven weeks) in User Experience Design. One of the assignments is to start a reflective journal on the course in a blog, and rather than create a new one (two is enough!) I am going to subsume this one for the next few months and do my required journal entries here. I hope you enjoy them. And, along the way, I’ll try to throw in a photo or two I have taken recently.

Thank you sincerely for dropping by the Book of Bokeh. I would also like to invite you to visit my Book of Pain  poetry blog. The photo is of a stain glass window that my wife, Lyn, found in her parent’s attic, and which she repaired and mounted in our own front window.

  1. So glad you have returned data. Something I left behind awhile ago. Look forward to you new blog direction. I’m fairly certain you will make it interesting.

    • Man, talk about PRESSURE!!! 🙂 But seriously, thank you! I miss my blogging friends (not to mention my blogging friends excellent posts!) very much. And I especially appreciate those who are hanging in there and putting up with my sometimes-there-mostly-not activities. Thanks!

    • Thom, honestly, I miss my blogging friends (not to mention my blogging friends excellent posts….and especially your University level lectures on contemporary music!) very much. And I especially appreciate those who are hanging in there and putting up with my sometimes-there-mostly-not activities. Thanks!

    • Thom, I forgot…as I write this I am listening (over and over again) to Parker Millsap’s 2 albums. If you haven’t heard of this guy DO SO IMMEDIATELY!!!! You’ll think a god of the 1940s Texas acoustic blues has been reborn in the 21st century. And you’d be right! Seriously.
