New York City 2014 – Bergdorf Goodman

IMG_5864

New York City is famous for its retail Christmas window displays, especially those of Macy’s, Saks and several others on 5th Avenue. But for my money, no one beats Bergdorf Goodman for originality or execution. Since Lyn and I were rushed this year we did not get to visit the other window displays as we normally do…but there was one I did not want to miss.

This post is from a multi-post series and the ‘Like’ button is turned off. If you want to like the series and have not done so yet, please do so at the first post.

Before viewing the photographs, I would also like to invite you to visit the poetry blog, the Book of Pain. As always, special thanks to my dearest spouse Lyn, who does most of the hard part: the photo selections. Thank you for dropping by the Book of Bokeh.

    • NYC is that, isn’t it? I have a love/irritated relationship with the place, especially Manhattan. On the one hand it is so diverse, colorful, historical and culturally rich, on the other it is shamelessly just plain old snooty rich and when not rich, snooty. We stopped into a department store (a five story department store, mind you…not a boutique) where the standard jean price was $295…marked down a whole 10% for Christmas. Ten percent of $295 would buy a pair of jeans for me with enough left over for a celebratory latte afterwards! The place practices being unreal. And yet, it is New York! New York! New York! and doesn’t make apologies for it.

The best thing that the place has going for it is its restaurants. 🙂

  1. This post is different from the previous one, and I have the feeling it’s different from your other posts; You’ve tried different angles, it’s interesting !! I love the picture of the hand, for example, amongst others.
