Harkness with the photo club

IMG_9273_4_5_6_7

And yet another set of photos from Harkness Memorial Park to match the four or five other ones that I have already done. (This time with no more knobby trees, I promise!) But this visit was special as it was with the Mid Connecticut Photography group that I belong to, each one of them excellent photographers and all really nice people to be with.

Before viewing the photographs, I would also like to invite you to visit the poetry blog, the Book of Pain. As always, special thanks to my dearest Lyn, who does most of the hard part: the photo selections. Thank you for dropping by the Book of Bokeh.

  1. Incredible photos John!!!!! Looking at your photos from Harkness made me realize how many photo-ops that I completely missed!!!! I didn’t even notice the beautiful rocks along the shore, and I didn’t see the stone frog or the captivating pillars (in your last photo). It’s like these treasures were invisible to me!!! I am learning so much from your example John …. at the next meet-up, I am going to pretend that I am an explorer, and become more thorough in my search for visual treasures. I will be using a more mindful lens, Thanks to you!!!! 😉

    • Linda, honestly…*THE* very first thing I said to my wife when I got home that day was, “Did you know they have a beautiful pond with a stone frog in it at Harkness?” “Yes,” she said, “And you didn’t?! We’ve only been there three time so far…” ?! It only goes to show that no matter how far you go there is always further to go. I loved then and I still love now the idea you kicked us all off with, “Look for different perspectives that you wouldn’t have seen before.” I keep that to heart now wherever I go. 🙂

The next time we are on a meetup together, let’s shoot together for a time. We can both teach each other something!
