Harkness Park – beach

Connecticut is blessed with a number of wonderful state parks which cover a range of habitats and outdoor habitats. Harkness Memorial State Park is located in the south of Connecticut on the Long Island Sound, the seaway that seperates Connecticut from New York. It is a big park and there will be three sets of images from that shoot: this one, on the beach, another of the gardens and a third on a particular and spectacular grove of trees that are located there.

Before viewing the photographs, I would also like to invite you to visit the poetry blog, the Book of Pain. As always, special thanks to my dearest Lyn, She Of Great Taste In All Things But Men, who does most of the photo selection. Thank you for dropping by the Book of Bokeh.

    • Thank you so very much! I am so glad that you liked them and that you dropped by the Book of Bokeh. Return again, soon, please! 🙂

    • If ever you get to go there you would not regret it~ It is a very lovely place…great sunrises and sunsets, a rocky beach, a sandy beach, waves, a great garden…I really love the place. Oh…and it’s also a great spot for a picnic! 🙂

    • Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind and generous comment! The Harkenss beach sots were amazing. I remember looking at them that night and thinking, “I took those?!?!” It was like someone else had borrowed my camera and used it, they were that nice. Hmmm, maybe someone did! Was it you? Tell the truth now! 🙂

    • Thank you! Are you still in the Connecticut or the near vicinity? It is my objective this year to get to know the Sound and the nearby towns better. I’m starting to… Rocky Neck pictures will be coming soon.

      • I look forward to seeing your photos of the Sound. It’s nice to see images of familiar places, especially ones that someone has put a lot of care and thought into. We live in CA, but do get back east from time to time.

        • Since you know the area, it is a pleasure to me that you enjoy them so much. Some morning I promise myself I am going to be up early enough to be there by dawn for some pictures. Someday. Someday…

    • Thank you so much! From a photographer of such skill as your site shows, I take that as a very great compliment!
